Ground Chuck is on sale at Meijer this week for $1.87 lb. Guess what I am going to be doing? I posted this video last year but wanted to re post it for all the new readers. This is how I mange to feed my family so cheap. It is a lot more than just clipping coupons. Meal planning and bulk cooking with store meat specials has been key for my success in having such a low grocery bill.
The Recipes:
Sweet Sloppy Joes
Spicy Sloppy Joes
Taco Meat
Beef Enchiladas
Cost of Ingredients:
Ground Chuck 10 lbs. = $18.70
1/2 bag Onions = $1
Green Peppers = $1
2 packs Flour Tortillas = $1 (Used Coupons $.50 each)
3 cans Enchilada Sauce = $3
1 can Tomato Soup = $.69
1 can Cream Of Mushroom Soup = $1
1 1/2 Jars Salsa $.75 (Used Coupons $.50 a jar)
Ketchup $.60 (Used Coupons)
Taco Seasoning = Free (Free after coupons)
3 (4oz) Cans green Chiles = $1.50
Total = approximately $30.44 for 11 meals!
Note: The other spices used in the recipes were in my pantry. I did not add in the cost of these items. I also purchased some of the above ingredients while they were on sale and matched them with a coupon when I could.
What will you be making this week?
