Only two internet coupons per manufacturer per day? Wow. So the way I am reading this is when they have their P&G sales, we can only use two printed coupons for two different P&G products. I don’t like that.

I think Kroger is going to policy themselves right out of a lot of customers. I cannot believe that they are putting such restrictive limitations on PAPER COUPONS! If I buy the papers that print the coupons, cut them and choose to take my business there, they should be THRILLED that I have planned to purchase a large quantity of their product! It saddens me that it has to be taken to such an extreme. Coupons are not a subsidy, they do not take any kind of a loss on them when accepted properly, I simply fail to understand who benefits from this?

Unfortunate!! I expected changes after the extreme coupon shows aired. I enjoy watching the shows but not everyone uses coupons to that extreme. I have been using coupons for more than 25 years & the coupon box I use was purchased @ Kroger over 25 years ago. We will just have to work around the obstacles. I’ve been doing that @ Meijer since they changed their policy 2 years ago. Separate orders. I will miss the rounding off up to $1 for coupons between .51–.99 though!

well, i dont like being limited to 5 coupons for the same product. other than that, it isnt a big change for me, i dont use alot of internet coupons, but i can see that may be a problem for some.

Delora October 7, 2011 at 4:10 pm

I knew this would happen because people want to be greedy and swipe everything off the shelf and not save anything for other shoppers. I pretty much don’t even try at Marsh because they are always out of stock if it’s on sale and there’s a coupon out there. I guess people will just have to cut back and let other people shop too :)

Jill October 7, 2011 at 4:23 pm

I wasn’t familiar with the details of the old policy. What changes were made?

Julie October 7, 2011 at 8:47 pm

Not happy about the 2 like internet coupons per day!! I have never cleared shelves nor do I intend to but often use 4 like coupons since I have 2 computers. Thanks a lot TLC…

Teresa, coupons between .51–.99 WILL still be doubled up to 1.00. The policy is a bit misleading but we have called several stores to confirm.

Guess I’ll be going to Meijer more often!!!

Danielle October 8, 2011 at 10:33 am

Does this mean that any coupon that is over 0.50 will not double up to a dollar???????

Amber Childers October 8, 2011 at 1:09 pm

guess meijer will have a lot more shoppers now!!

Jennifer October 8, 2011 at 1:15 pm

Sounds like our coupon policy here in WV. They started limiting us to two internet coupons/day a couple of months ago. I was VERY disappointed! And, they have lost a lot of my business. They also only double coupons up to 0.50, but that has been in effect since I started shopping there. At the time, I was just happy to find a store around here that doubled coupons at all.

Danielle~our store does not double up to a double if the coupon is over 0.50. Good luck!

nicole October 9, 2011 at 2:49 am

I called the miamisburg kroger and they told me there only doubling 50 cents or less coupons.

Kimberly October 9, 2011 at 4:31 pm

I don’t understand how so many Krogers can have different coupon policies. Our Kroger in Indiana changed their coupon policy months ago and limits only 2 like coupons per item. They also do not double but triple up to .50. In other words, if you have 3 Old Spice deodorants , they will only triple 2 of the same coupon. I’m sure this was done to prevent people from clearing shelves which I can understand but what I don’t understand is why every Kroger does not have the same policy. I am going to have to contact our local Kroger I guess to see if their policy has changed as well “again”. I also am sick of rude cashiers! Anymore, I self scan at a store whenever possible so I don’t have to deal with their attitudes or people behind me with bad attitudes toward couponers. I’m tired of feeling guilty for trying to save my family money.

Carrie Minton October 9, 2011 at 10:19 pm

I usually only have 4 like Q to use on a product but if I have more I will just verify with the mgr at my local Kroger before purchasing or ring an additional order. As I read it…they are only “reserving” the right to limit it to 5 Q not strictly enforcing a 5 Q limit. Their wording for increasing the value of the Q is “doubling” and so only states the price value up to $0.50. In my opinion this leaves the “rounding up” of higher value Q in question which I will also have to verify with my local store.

First Kroger irritated me with no more combining of digital and paper coupons … now this?!?! Like many others have said … I think I’ll start checking out Meijer and/or Remke/Bigg’s!!! Kroger is getting WAY too big for its britches!!!!

taylor October 10, 2011 at 3:58 pm

My sister works at a Kroger in TX several months back they quite doubling coupons all together but placed no other limitations on the coupon policy ie: Internet / regular news print coupons. It was her understanding that Kroger has been lowering prices to below the competitor so the need to double was not needed there starting to loose money instead. She said in her 30yrs there this is not the first time this has happened then they went back to the way things were.

Valerie October 10, 2011 at 9:50 pm

I just went Krogering. They refused to honor a $1 off Philly cooking creme and the B1G1 free coupon, even though, I was buying two containers. They said I had to buy 3 to use both coupons. Their policy isn’t clear on this point…and what’s the big deal? They would get the coupon values back from Kraft….for both coupons. My coupons over .50 did double.

Pam Christy October 11, 2011 at 12:25 am

Coupon policy & shelf tags with the wrong item are the main reasons that I have cut my Kroger shopping from 90% of my weekly shopping to only 10%.

Megadeal October 11, 2011 at 10:52 am

Doesn’t make any sense if they have 5 per transaction – they aren’t limiting how many transactions people can have. So how does this help shelf clearing tactics? What a waste! And the internet coupons limit per manufacturer – I think even the manufacturers aren’t going to like that. How many products does P&G make? Just dumb.

Teresa October 13, 2011 at 9:18 am

I confirmed that it is 5 identical items, ie you can still get 10 Gatorade but only 5 of each flavor.

kelly October 14, 2011 at 3:04 pm

I have been told that on the 5 like coupons that it doesn’t matter if you by different flavors. If you use the same coupon then you can only use 5. Although if you have a coupon say 5 coupons for plain cheerios and 5 coupons that state honey nut then you can use 5 of each. If you use a coupon that states “Any cheerios” then you can still only use 5 total of those coupons even if you by 5 of each flavor. I hope this makes since. So your coupon as to be different in some way or it is just 5 of that one.

I am also trying to get our store to verify the printable coupon policy. They are stating that it is 2 per day PERIOD no matter what it is for. I have told them that some of the printed policies I have seen and the news broadcast with the spokeswoman have said that it is 2 per day PER PRODUCT or MANUFACTURER. So they are still to get back to me on that.

Ann October 14, 2011 at 9:06 pm

Well, i think this policy is absurd, too bad if couponers clear the shelves!!! More people should coupon. Well they will be scanning alot of orders when I go! Or maybe I will just go to Walmart or Meijer!!!!

chasity white October 16, 2011 at 1:27 am

I was in for a complete shock tonight when i went into my local kroger in Lebanon, Tennessee. They told me only 5 like coupons could be used. So then I asked if I could do it in seperate transactions and was bluntly and very rudly told NO! Will be forced to replan my visits when going there now. If they keep this up I will quit going there all together.. the deals lately havent been that great anyway!

Amber October 17, 2011 at 9:10 pm

I was just wondering, can you still use a paper MFR coupon and a Kroger digital coupon together? I read somewhere you can’t…

cindy October 18, 2011 at 8:30 am

no they no longer allow it.

Janelle October 25, 2011 at 10:59 am

I went to Kroger in Miamisburg this weekend and they still doubled my 55cent coupons to a dollar, fyi.

Deb October 25, 2011 at 12:30 pm

I am so frustrated. I went to my Kroger this morning and was told I could only use 1 printed coupon per like item. I tried to buy 4 tombstone pizzas and use 2- $1.00 off 2 coupons and was only allowed to use one. I called the store to make sure the cashier wasn’t mistaken but she was right. I told them they should at least let 2 be used since 2 per computer can be printed and they could check to see that the pin numbers were different but they said no, only 1 per day on like items. I told them I guess I will be doing more price matching at Walmart.

Deb October 25, 2011 at 2:57 pm

I just went to the other Kroger store in my town and they don’t understand why I wasn’t allowed to use more than one coupon as long as I had the proper amount of items. They showed me their coupon policy and it said nothing about any limits on printed coupons. Is each store allowed to make their own policies? I think I will go back to the first store and ask for a copy of theirs.

Ronisha November 5, 2011 at 5:34 pm

so to help me understand this better you can only use 5 manufacturing coupons throughout the whole transaction? or for example can you buy 3 packs of chip o hoy cookies can you use 5 manufacturing coupons for all three which makes 15 manufacturing coupons on the chip o hoy cookies?

cindy November 5, 2011 at 7:48 pm

You are allowed 5 alike insert coupons. You still need to buy the quantity listed on the coupon. You can not use 5 coupons on one item.

Dawn November 17, 2011 at 2:51 pm

I recently went to Kroger in Miamisburg for the free milk w/purchase of 4 GM cereals. I was told I could only use 2 coupons from the same mfg at a time. I could not use 2 honey nut cheerio coupons and a $1/2 GM cereals. Seems like every day, the policies are changed/revised.

REBECCA THOMPSON December 6, 2011 at 7:22 pm

Went to Meijers over the weekend. They only allow two like coupons so maybe we should quit complaining about Kroger, it could be worse. At least at Kroger you can use 5.

Renee February 28, 2012 at 12:20 pm

Since I learned of this policy last year, I have actually shopped at Kroger’s less. I tend to go to Meijer more often now. Cubs coupon policy for Internet coupons is the same. I rarely shop there either. Can’t remember the last time I shopped at Cubs. I think Cubs and Kroger have gone to the extreme with such small limits. If someone is trying to feed a family, they make it hard to shop in bulk. For now I only shop Kroger’s for their meat or if there’s a really good deal, otherwise Meijer is my grocery store of choice.
