A Sneak Peek Inside My Pantry + My Son Giving Me A Hard Time!

by cindy on January 17, 2011

Okay, as promised here is a look inside my stockpile/pantry. After the stockpile clip you are going to see some behind the scene footage of my son giving me a hard time. LOL! I was not sure if I wanted you to see that part but he said I had to leave it in. :)

Thanks Josh for all your hard work. I love you buddy!

Haha- I love that video. Saw this on RSS feed and had to come over and comment….
I really like how your stockpile is a decent size without over doing it:) It looks similar to my stockpile. I think it’s great to show couponers (especially new ones) that you don’t have to go overboard to save money!
And yes, having girls makes the tp go fast! We go thru about a roll a day! I think that’s way too much!

So, after seeing your video, I have a new question for you. How do you save on food and sacks for your dogs? I rarely see you mention animal products. My dog, unfortunately, has an allergy to corn, so the regular food you find at the grocery doesn’t work for her. We switched to the Blue Buffalo brand, which is quite pricey! When those coupons come around mI like to buy extra. Is there a way to store and preserve dog food safely?

Cindy ~Your son is a great videographer! I love how you show your “non-hoarding” storage for all of your deals. I also love the wire racks that you have on your pantry door for spices, I’m going to steal that idea. Thanks for doing all that you do.

Thank you for showing everyone what a “real” stockpile looks like. After that tv show, I had a lot of friends asking questions and I actually posted pictures on my facebook page to show them what a real stockpile usually looks like. Thanks for all that you do!

Cindy, I absolutely LOVE the “behind the scenes” part! Your son may well have a career as a Documentary Film Maker! lol

Nice to “meet” your family, and nice to see a “normal” stockpile. I think a lot of people think us couponers are hoarders! lol

Again, Video was GREAT fun and I’m glad you posted it!

I, too, think it’s important that you showed “the world” that you can stockpile but don’t have to hord. Thanks for sharing!

Great video! My stockpile is similar to yours, its just enough to make me happy without going overboard. I caught my husband admiring it the other day!

I have been purging too. I am hoping a new deal for shredded cheese comes up soon.

wonderful job on video showing what stock piling not hoarding is! Your son did a nice job video taping & was quite funny with his additional piece at @ the end!

I too was happy to see your stockpile. I often wonder if I’m doing too much or too little, but I’m not far off from you. It’s also nice of you to show the behind the scenes because people like us, couponistas, are normal people with normal families.

:0) I was blushing for you!!! I hate having my picture taken let alone being on a video. I didn’t know you could freeze cheese like that, in the package without moving it to a freezer bag or container. Awesome!!

Oh and nice little stash. Not over the top at all!

Cindy!! I know i don’t know you, but i feel like i do since i follow your blog! I LOVE this video!! thanks for sharing.

wow, i thought i was doing well, but i’m not NEARLY as prepared as you! it was super encouraging to watch that video. i have a freezer in our garage, but it’s unplugged right now because it is EMPTY! i need to work on my stockpile, because i have been forced into a couple situations where i payed full price for stuff because i needed it. :( :(

ok, i’m going to work on that!!! thank you for sharing!!!!!!!!!!

I get my dog food from Tractor Supply. They seem to have the best price. My dogs have no allergies so I am lucky there. I am not sure if you saw it but I have a dog food storage container in my pantry.

Cindy,
Thanks for the video. You are so great. I am just starting out on quest to save money and waste nothing. So my question for you is this…
A) how long can you keep the packaged cheeses in the freezer? When ready to use them you thaw in the fridge and use?
B) How long can you keep meat in the freezer, and is there a certain way to insure they dont get freezer burnt?
Thanks for all you do and all your help.

I buy my Blue dog food at Complete Petmart because at least there you get a stamp for every bag of food bought and after 8 (or 10 – can’t remember) you get a FREE bag.

Thanks so much for the realistic view of a stockpile. I have been trying to decide where to put one in my house and I had visions of taking over a room. Now, I know I can do this on a much smaller scale and still achieve the same goal.
