Walgreens Coupon Policy Is Now Official!!!!!!!!!!!!

by cindy on August 26, 2010

Whoohoo, finally a Walgreens Coupon Policy. I can not tell you how excited I am about this official policy. So many of you have had problems getting Walgreens to take your coupons. One store will the other will not and the list goes on. Walgreens now has a coupon policy online. I would suggest printing this policy and keeping it with you.

Here are a few highlights from the site:

  • In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.
  • When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.
  • The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).
  • When purchasing multiple items, Walgreens accepts multiple identical coupons for multiple qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers, unless a limit is specified. Management reserves the right to limit the quantity of items purchased.
  • When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased.
  • Sales tax must be paid for any Buy One, Get One Free coupon offers, if required by applicable state laws.
  • Walgreens accepts valid internet/print at home coupons.

Hi, I’m new to using coupons but I had a question that maybe you could answer. A few weeks agon I bought 2/6 irish spring body wash, I used to coupons and got $4.oo register rewards back. The add said buy 2/6 and get 4 dollars in register rewards. Today I went in and bought $30. in gillette fusion razors, I had a coupon for each. I was suppose to get $10. in register rewards. They wouldn’t give it to me because they said it wasn’t $30. because I used the coupons. Do you knowwhat the policy is on that? Why would I get it one day and not the next? Thanks for your time :)

I had a problem just the other day with a few coupons. The sales clerk was reading the coupon just to make sure I had just was on the coupon. Hope this new policy is better!

Walgreens this week really frustrated me. Their add for register rewards for their pampers and hershey deal was unclear and i now have two register rewards that can only be used on products i already bought (hershey candy and pampers) that i dont need to buy again. My walgreens has also stopped marking the sales on the shelves making shopping with little kids frustrating and time consuming. I amthinking of stopping my endeavors there which is unfortunate because i’ve done well there the last few months.

Ruth, I am a CVS girl myself. I will only go to Walgreens for a few great deals. CVS is just easier to deal with imo.

I’ve had it with Walgreens! Every time I go in to purchase something that is advertized in the flyer, they are all sold out, or the manager tells me that their store has never carried that item. It’s really frustrating because the store is just 2 miles from my home. Even when I asked for a rain check I was told that a truck was coming in tomorrow and I should come back then. CVS is about 20 miles from home but I guess thats where I’ll be going, or Walmart.

I had a coupon encounter with them that might prove helpful. You cannot have more coupons & register rewards than you have items. I had 5 items and 5 coupons + 3 register rewards. The register would not allow her to take off my RR. I had to buy 3 more items. Luckily they had these 3 for $1 caramels at the register so it wasn’t a big deal.

Just another policy thing to share though! :-)
