My cashier at Target wouldn’t adjust the band aid coupon down. She said I couldn’t use the coupons because the product didn’t cost $1.00. I asked her if she could adjust them down. She said no. I didn’t take the product and kept the coupons and plan to try it again. Did your cashier adjust the coupons down so the the band aids were free?

Andrea,

Their coupon policy states that they will adjust the coupon down. Make a copy of the policy and take it with you to the store.

This is from their website: http://www.target.com/b/?node=2223357011

When accepting coupons, we use the following guidelines:

• We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued.
• We’ll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
• Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
• We can’t give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.
• We can’t accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.
• All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier while you’re checking out.

What do you do if they scan the coupon and it doesn’t credit you the money? I went to Target to take advantage of the juicy juice deal and the $1/1 coupons scanned and credited and the $1/2 coupon scanned but didn’t credit. What do you do if you notice it there at the register? What do you do if you notice it once you walk away? Any advice on that?

Jami, I always watch the screen to make sure the coupons are coming off my bill. That way you can handle it right then. I have had to go to CS to have things fixed and they are always helpful as long as you are nice. The other option is to return the item if you feel you have paid too much.
