Make Future Use Of Great Produce Prices!

by cindy on July 19, 2009

Blueberries have been really cheap the past few weeks at $.99 a pk. I decided to pick up a few and freeze them for later use.

Here are the easy steps for freezing blueberries.

1. Wash blueberries and pat dry.

2. Line baking sheet with waxed paper and arrange berries in single layer on sheet.

3. Flash freeze berries.

4. Fill freezer bags with frozen berries and store in freezer.

Frozen blueberries are great to add to smoothies or thaw a few for blueberries pancakes or recipes.

When prices are this cheap I try to think ahead and and plan for the future. A small bag of frozen blueberries at the store can be pricey. I freeze a lot of fruit while it is cheap and in season. This is one of the reasons I have such a low grocery bill. Coupons can only take you so far. Bulk cooking and freezing foods has taken me to the next level.
