Save Your Sunday Coupon Inserts!

by cindy on March 18, 2009

For those of you who are new to this site or have never taken one of my classes. You have probably noticed that when I do a coupon match-up I will put the the date and source of the coupon to use after the item that is on sale. Example: Breyers YoCrunch $.75 in 1-8-09 SS this means you will find a $.75 coupon for Breyers YoCrunch in the 1-8-09 SmartSource insert.

I use a coupon data base to search for coupons that go with each weeks ad. Yes this takes some time to do but well worth it. I want all my followers to be able to get all the great deals I post about. Let me do all the work and you reap the rewards.

If you throw away your inserts you may miss a great deal or free items. I would like for you all to clip the coupons you know you will use and save your inserts just in case. You may not need it now but if it’s free or really cheap you will be glad to have saved those coupons.

Here is what I suggest you do.

  • Save Inserts
  • Date your inserts with a marker (this will make it easier for you to find)
  • Buy a filing system like the one in the photo
  • File Inserts in order

* I also ask for my family and friends for their inserts after they are finished going through them. If they are just going to throw them away anyway. I will gladly put them to good use. I have almost dumpster dived for coupons but my husband drew the line with that one. “Sigh” I guess I will have to let him win that one. “Oh well”

*I post weekly coupon match-ups for Kroger, Meijer, CVS and Walgreens.

when all the coupons are clipped for what you use, what do you file these in. I have a lot and i am sure yours are 20 times mine. I am using envelopes but they are tearing because I am in and out of them so much. I guess I need something to organize them in. I thought about baseball card holders but not sure. Help me get a little organized….I love the idea about clipping what you use and filing the rest. I have gone thru these inserts a million times !!!! (now I won’t have to). Thanks for all your help. looking forward to a class soon
Thanks

They sell fill boxes at Target. I would suggest one of those. Also I only buy one paper and my MIL gives me her inserts. That is all I need at this point. :)

don’t cut out coupon until you plan on using it.
Just date each flyer then put in month file
use database, it tells you date of coupon
go to your file , find date, clip, go shopping, use coupon
EASY
