My Walgreens Deal!

by cindy on March 9, 2009

This is my first Trip to Walgreens this week. I just may have to make a second trip. The deals are just to good to pass up. I should not have to buy any feminine hygiene products for a long time. Be sure to check my Walgreens ad post here for coupon match-ups.

My Deal

  • 5 Boxes of Kotex Tampons=$15
  • 2 Boxes of Kotex Pads=$6
  • 2 Boxes of Kotex Liners=$6
  • 2 Glade Sense & Spray Starter Kit=$15.98
  • 2 Glade Lasting Impressions holder=$15.98
  • 3 Garnier Fructis Hair Stylers=$8.97
  • 1 Soda=$1.19
  • 1 Candy Bar (had to reward my 4 year old)=$.59

Coupons Used

  • 8 MQ coupons for Kotex=$8
  • 2 RR coupons=$4 (RR are Walgreen coupons good for $ off your next order)
  • 3 MQ coupons for Garnier hair products=$3
  • 1 IVC coupon for Garnier hair products ( this is a coupon that Walgreens has in the Monthly Rebate Book. You can use this coupon with a Manufacture coupon)=$6 ($2 off each product)
  • 2 Bogo MQ coupons for the Glade (1 for Lasting and 1 for Sence)=$15.98
  • 2 $4 coupons for Glade (1 for Lasting and 1 for Sence)=$8
  • 2 IVC coupon (1 for Lasting and 1 for Sence)=$16 ($4 off each product)

Total Before coupons and sale price=$88.24

  • Walgreens sale savings=$18.53
  • MQ savings=$60.98

Total After coupons and sale price=$13.57 OOP($4.84 of this total was tax you do have to pay sales tax on the free items and I also earned a $10 RR for buying $25 worth of Kotex good for money off my next purchase!) So $3.57 after RR! I would have paid $0 out of pocket but my rebate money was not on my gift card yet “Oh well” next trip. I will roll the RR for other deals.

* If you do this deal here is a few tips: Use this order for coupons or you will have a problem at the check out. MQ coupon then BOGO coupon then IVC coupon. Always use IVC after MQ. Don’t have more items than you have coupons for. If you do grab a filler a pack of gum or something small. The Walgreens register will beep if you have more coupons than items. Do not use the same RR to purchase same items that earn the same RR. They will not roll! If you want to earn more RR for the same deal do separate transactions. You can use a RR from a different maufactures for a RR reward. Example: Coke has a RR deal of $3 you can use this RR to help pay for the Huggies/Kotex deal that earns a $10 RR. Then you can use the $10 RR from Huggies/Kotex deal to help pay for the Coke that earns a $3 RR. I hope this helps you to learn how to play the Drug store game.

*I have a link for $5 and $3 here from coupons.com for the Huggies diapers. You should be able to print the coupons 2 times.

Thank you so much for the information at walgreens! It was very nice meeting you! You were very helpful in explaining a few things to me. From now on I will be visiting your site often. Please let me know when you will be having another class. Again, thank you very much for the coupon that you gave to me at Walgreens, that was very nice of you.
