Freezer-Pleaser

by cindy on January 8, 2009

This is my favorite Ziti and Lasagna sauce. I don’t recommend this recipe for spaghetti the sauce is just to thick. I always double this recipe and freeze into container to use when I make baked ziti. For those of you who use venison. This recipe camouflages the taste of the venison.

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef (I use ground venison)
  • 2 lbs. Italian sausage
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 t garlic powder, or more to taste
  • 1t Italian seasoning, or more to taste
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1/4 c grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 29-ounce cans tomato sauce
  • 1 6-ounce can tomato paste

Brown ground beef and sausage in a large pot. Add onion and seasons and continue to cook over low heat for 10 minutes or until onion is browned. Drain off all fat. Add the tomato sauce and paste simmer for about 15 minutes. Dived into freezer containers.

What Are eCoupons?

by cindy on January 7, 2009

Ecoupons are coupons you add to your store card. It is so easy to do and it’s free. I have been adding ecoupons to my store cards for about a year now. All you have to do is sign up for the program select the coupons you want and they attach to your shopper card. The best part is that you don’t have to clip them or remember to take them with you.

A few things to know about eCoupons is that they don’t double and they have expiration date’s just like paper coupons. They do send me emails every month when they add new coupons. I love that they remind me to save money.

Here are the places I get eCoupons from.

CellFire
UPromise.com
Shortcuts
P & G
Unilever

Upromise is a free service, and by adding your credit, debit or grocery card means that you can begin saving money for college every time you shop at participating retailers.”

What do you do with left over bread?

by cindy on January 6, 2009

Make Croutons !

Here’s the deal I can not throw anything away. So I save all my left over bread (buns, crusts from sandwich bread I cut into dinosaur shapes for my son) and store it in the fridge until I have a large bag full. The rest is easy.

  • Cut bread into cubes.
  • Drizzle with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle with your favorite seasonings (I use Italian seasoning).
  • Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Mix bread gently until evenly coated.
  • Spread bread out on baking pan.
  • Bake at 300 stirring often until bread is crispy.

About Me

by cindy on January 1, 2009

Koala

Thank you for visiting my money saving blog. I hope you find the information beneficial and time saving.

My name is Cindy. I’m a 30 something stay-at-home wife and mother of two boys. I love to stretch a buck and get the most for my money. I enjoy teaching couponing tips to my family and friends. I also love yoga, scrap booking, bulk cooking and freebies.

I manage to feed my family of 4 for under $40 a week utilizing these techniques. I developed this site after being asked by so many of my friends, family and strangers to show them how I am able to get so much for so little. Even the cashiers at the check out lines ask me how I do this. I do this by combining Manufacturing Coupons, Store Coupons, Rebates, along with Store Sales at just the right time to get the Best Deal. Many of my products I manage to get for free!

I will post the best deals I find here along with my favorite bulk cooking recipes to help you get the most out of your grocery dollar. Let’s start saving together.
